I have some old hard disks - the connections at the back don't match my new ones. 

Is there connectors I can get to make them fit - they would be great storage?

you really need to provide more info or at least provide pictures otherwise we are just guessing

you may have IDE hard drives and want to used them on SATA connectors?

probably not but there are adapters out there for about the $30 mark, you just need to know what connectors you are going from/too

The adapters would probably cost more than the drives are worth.

I have used ide to sata adapters with success. You can buy them off Trademe for around $5.  Sometimes for home its not just what the old disk is worth now but also the cost of buying a new hard drive when you know you have good old ones.




HTPC Intel Pentium G3258 cpu, Gigabyte H97n-wifi motherboard, , 8GB DDR3 ram, onboard  graphics. Hauppuage HVR 5500 tuner,  Silverstone LC16M case, Windows 10 pro 64 bit using Nextpvr and Kodi

How new is your motherboard? If it is a couple of years old, chances are it still has an IDE connector, should be able to find an IDE cable cheap. That will run 2 drives as long as you have space in the case.
