Today I got an email from Facebook saying there had been unsuccessful log in attempts. Not me, so I logged into outlook and saw that there had been unsuccessful log in attempts in the last 24 hours... and outlook gave me the IP address. I logged into google and saw same IP had recently been logged into my account.

Now, I have 2 factor on google, so not sure if not legit IP, though don't recall failed login to outlook.

Question: is there any way to find out the details of the IP? I did a google search and got a wainuiomata postcode, that's all.

Not really. Most you'll be able to do is trace it back to the ISP, unless its a businesses range.

You'll need the ISP to go further

In addition to the answer above. Yes. Example: http://whois.urih.com.

Enable 2FA on Facebook as well. Actually, enable everywhere. Use Authy so you can have 2FA tokens in multiple devices.
