When you say you have restored Windows, I take it that you have used the recovery CD?  If this is the case, you lose all of your files / data as well as settings.  It is like retoring it back to the first time you turned on the computer.

If you have actually tried to restore your PC to an earlier date, your files and programmes should still be there.  Anyway, please tell us what you did exactly.

I restored it meaning that i wiped everything off the harddisk. i have copyed it all back on and i was setting up outlook with my 2 email accounts and importing my data back in and configuring it to be just how i liked it then had to restart my computer because of some random update. and then all the settings were gone.

i then did it all over again and restarted my pc and it lost it again.

Hopefully that makes it clearer.

Ah I see.  How about trying this?  Set everything to your liking and then do a backup in Outlook again - that is, create a new backup file.  Load the new backup file to Outlook and hopefully this time the settings don't disappear on you.  Perhaps the original backup data file is corrupt?

Give it a go and good luck.
