I have an old photoprinting kiosk that has a touchscreen LCD in it which I use as a jukebox type machine.
Anyway, its old, its got whatever the CPU was before the core series in it, and its got XP on it still, so I want to upgrade it to something from this decade.
The LCD needs VGA into it. I tried a cheap HDMI to VGA adapter on a PI into it, but couldnt get the right resolution, not tried that adapter on a desktop PC to see if it fares any better, but then after getting the pipo box and finding that the baytrail platform seems ok unlike previous atoms, I was thinking about getting something similar for it.
Need to have VGA, a USB for the audio output device (or non-crap onboard, but USB is probably more likly) and a USB plug for the touchscreen driver, and ideally an internal USB header for the card reader that is part of the case (I have removed the optical drive it had in it because its an optical drive so useless)
I have my eyes on this board - https://www.mightyape.co.nz/product/ASRock-Q1900-ITX-Intel-CPU-Onboard-Motherboard/22875040
The case has enough room to mount a mini atx board, but there are no cutouts for expansion cards so I dont gain anything over an ITX board.
If there is an all in one box like the pipo with a VGA out, and enough USB ports that would also work as I can just velcro that inside the kiosk where the motherboard is at the moment.
So before I pull finger and order that ITX board that seems to tick all the boxes, is there anything else out there suitable? Not a PI BTW, needs to have proper windows so it actually works with getting into windows shares.
