I was given 3 ups from work that have failed batteries in them, I am looking at replacing the batteries and have already found the replacement ones but I need to know where to dispose of the old UPS batteries in Auckland.
Two of the batteries have cracked along the bottom so im wanting to be very careful how they are disposed of.

I believe itpower.co.nz take them if you are in Auckland.

Metal recyclers buy car batteries and presumably will take smaller batteries as well for the lead in them.  I would anticipate they have regulations about disposing of the acid.

Uber: Car batteries only, no other types.

Dynamic: Thanks will look into ITPower.

I take them to our local scrap metal dealer, they are only worth about 10c each but it's better than paying to get rid of them!

Any scrap metal yard will most likely take them if they are lead batteries.
