Gigabyte X38T-DQ6 Motherboard (x38 chipset obviously :-)
4gb DDR3 1600 Corsair XMS
Thermaltake Big Water 745 Watercooling Kit.
150gb Raptor - Sata2

Excuse the possibly daft question but how's the graphics setup going to work?

Fair enough question.. its not meant to be a SLI setup, we looked at that but decided not to do it as the secondary card is purely for a touch screen (air traffic control/waypoints.. in flight simulator X).. Where the primary card will be driving a 22" widescreen.. Wait till i post the final install pics, if you like flight sim u will love this!

however!!! Have just found out that the Ram isnt arriving till middle of November!! WTF!! not pleased.. So have got 2gb of DDR3 1066 on "eval" till then, hopefully have an operational computer tomorrow morning, JUST in time for the crysis demo which comes out at 8am our time..
In closing... NZ distributers annoy me greatly!! The delivery date for the ram was yesterday, then i find out today that its not in stock for another month!

Its up and running.. Had a play with overclocking but the northbridge appears to be over heating so im going to order in a waterblock for that.. so at the moment with a small overclock to 3.2ghz im getting this vista score: (hope to get it to 5.9 with the overclock)

I envy your 5.6 score with a few 5.9s!!!!! :-(

pity, I don't have that kind of money to burn to get a rig like this, i wish i could though... but gotta pay those credit cards and hp first.

Interestingly enough, with such a powerful system and graphic cards, yet no Aero Glass? (or even Aero Basic?)

yeah i went on a service killing spree, turned off aero and a lot of other useless features i dont need (or use). Wanted as much resources as i can for games, seeing how vista loves to hog memory as it is. Vista Manager is quite a good program for that, it optimises several other things as well.. You can get it here

You might want to read this post, and rethink the age old memory usage from old Windows, as Windows Vista handles it differently. The Task Manager reports on memory now include all cached as it uses RAM as level-3 cache. If a game needed more resources, Windows Vista will release all unnecessary resources to maximise the memory for the application (using Games Explorer).

Also with your powerful video card, it uses WDDM and operate the whole desktop as DirectX layer and can render much better than basic driver, which is less efficient.

Windows Vista Basic is good for low-end graphics chip, on higher-end should utilise DirectX more.

Oh my G** I would think I have died and gone to a better place with looking at your PC setup.

Only thing missing is a built in toilet, microwave and fridge or I suppose get by with piza delivery 24 by 7.  I wouldnt wont to go to work.  Let us know how it goes with crysis on extreme settings!

yep every single switch has a purpose, such as landing gear up and down etc... the control boards are done via usb.. all up it takes 8 usb ports for the switchs, throttle etc.. and nah the foot was extra :-p
