Just wanted to check with existing users of Office 365.

My current subscription expires in June. I went into PB tech today as they had the Home Edition on special, but the salesman wasn't 100% sure if I could buy the retail pack for renewal of an existing subscription. He seemed to think that renewals could only be done online.

Would appreciate if any other GZ users of Office 365 could confirm if online renewal is the only option or if buying another retail pack can also be used for renewal.

Thanks

I have been wondering this myself, the other question I would like to add is can you renew a single user to a multi user subscription?

Pretty sure you can upgrade Personal to Home.

Both of you might want to have a look at Thurrot.com. I think he has the answer to your questions :)

For mine it just added it to my current plan (i.e. added another year).

This was for my copies of Personal (1 machine/1 tablet).

Once you login to office website and click on my account you will see "Renew with an office product key" under the billing area.

Click on this enter in the new key and it should extend (currently sub if it's the same kind of product, Personal, Home etc).

If you are upgrading to from personal to Home, I would wait till the current sub is about to end.

Thanks. That was my understanding. Salesman put doubt in my mind and I was under some time pressure. Unfortunately sale finished yesterday too. Hopefully sometime within the next 2 months it's on special again somewhere.

Thanks for the link, I have only today gotten around to updating my Personal subscription to a Home subscription, easy peasy
