I am looking for something that captures a whole system, all the partitions, hidden or otherwise, into a backup, and then can restore to another computer via a boot disk. Needs to run in UEFI.

Is this possible? What software would you recommend? I don't mind if its pay software. Just needs to do the job well.

Whatever you choose, test it. Dont assume it works

There is no one peice of software that will allways work, for all PC's
On rare occasions, Ive had to try 5 different imaging/cloning software products to get one that worked on that setup.
Some of the older clone/image software sometimes has issues with images on USB Hard drives

And , imaging back to different hardware (a very different PC) can commonly leave a non loading Win . Paragon have a free tool to fix that issue, it works very well.

Active@ is very good, and not too expensive
WD has a free version of Acronos, Seagate free version is (was) a bit older
Win7,8 have very good imaging tools built in (but a bit hidden)

Macrium Reflect Free works great. I image my OS disk regularly, and I image wife/family computers too. I've restored using it more than once.

The paid versions have extra features, I think they make it easier to restore to a PC with different hardware.

It's a one off. I am trying to clone a tablet with some weird partitions, to another tablet with the same hardware. It's proving tricky to find the right software that works. Certainly windows 8.1 system image doesn't work.

That did it. For UEFI only boot systems, like tablets, macrium reflect works like a charm. Actually a kind of elegant program.

Hell no. Perhaps a few years back, but be VERY Careful using this software, I've had 3+ incidents of failure to restore due to a "bug" in various versions of their software which means it doesn't include the recovery partition.

If you want the best, Shadowprotect, if you want cheaper EASEUS has good software as does Paragon Software.

I don't think you could run shadow protect on a UEFI only tablet. The boot disk needs a EFI boot structure - which not a lot of restore and back up programs have.

The above mentioned program is the only one I found that fully understood the weird filesystem that is dual boot windows and android, and restored it perfectly from a bootable flash.
