I have a 120G Samsung 850 evo in one of my desktop PCs.

I like it.

I was thinking of adding a similar drive to another machine.

Then I saw that, while pbtech have the evo at $136, they also have a Sandisk for $74.

The Sandisk is not so fast as the evo but it will still make a big difference to the performance of the other PC.

Am I missing something? Is the Sandisk a bargain compared to the evo or is it really a case of getting what you pay for?

Any advice appreciated.

According to your link the Sandisk is out of stock so it doesn't really matter :)

They were showing 20 odd in stock this afternoon so somebody clearly thinks that they are a good deal and I can get them elsewhere so the question stands.

You will not notice a difference in real world usage.

 I'd get the cheaper option.

They are that cheap because they are one of three items on sale for the day.

It is true that you probably won't notice the difference in speed and I would probably agree that if you can get the Sandisk for that price elsewhere then go for it.

Samsung does have a pretty good name for longevity on their SSDs too.

Also, look at the warranty. That can vary a lot.

Samsung for quality, especially the pro model. Performance is generally irrelevant, lower latency is the key to SSD advantages.
