Hello everyone hope you guys and gals are having an awesome day/evening/night!

I have a query? I searched up budget gaming PC and they could build PCs with less than $400 USD which equals around about $600 NZD. So I was what the heck I'm going to try it! After all I am low budget student trying to get into the computing line and thought this is the start of everything right here.

Well I'm hoping if you guys could please please please build me a budget gaming pc .

My budget: $550 approx Excluding Case and PSU and OS
I know this is low budget but all I need is CPU, MOBO, GPU, RAM, Storage,Wireless network adapter (USB one would be nice) and if possible OS

I sincerely hope you can do good and if have had previous success with budget builds with similar budget than please reply I'm not that techie so I'm reaching out.

Also does anybody know how to get Windows 7,8 or 10 cheaper or free? I find it way too expensive but that's life I guess?
Plus are those $1.00 Trade me prices for Computer components and monitors worth it? I mean they have 100% positive feedback and 300 stars yet how do they make money? Lol plus has anyone bought from Newegg overseas and got good cheaper components?

American prices for computer parts are among the lowest available which is why they can put cheap computers together.

Haven't tried Newegg before because they seemed more expensive than Amazon to get the products to NZ

How do I do this. I have a Microsoft account, I have a school email and am currently a high schooler.

How can I get an OS cheap-free? Does this work if I install it onto a blank pc (new custom budget pc with no os)
Can I do work/study and play games on it?
Also how long does it last?

Don't buy the cpu cooler the stock cooler will be fine. or use the savings to upgrade to a better CPU

I second that it's a complete and utter overkill for that CPU ....

I run a AMD FX-8350 on that cooler and cant even get it to think about warming up lol!

Keep in mind any PC for this price won't be top of the line or particularly fast. Adding an SSD will make it feel a lot faster.

Just assembled my first desktop, yesterday.
My old one appeared to have been shorted out by the kids and had slowly died.

Previously bought a 256gb Sata III SSD via Aliexpress with intention of fresh install.

I elected to build because I could, I had a couple of components I wanted to re use rather than bin, and a new SSD.

I could have bought decent specification A grade ex lease laptop or desk top with Windows 7 for half the price!

New parts $600
Coolermaster Elite 130 Mini ITX Gaming Case - No PSU
400watt 80+ Silver OEM PSU, 24pin, 8pin, 6+2pin PCI-E, 4 x SATA, 3 x Molex, Floppy
Gigabyte F2A88XN-WIFI Mini ITX Socket FM2 Motherboard
AMD A8 7650k Black Edition Quad Core APU, R7 Graphics, 384 Shaders, 3.3ghz, turbo 3.8ghz, Unlocked multiplier
Corsair 8gb (2 x 4gb) Vengeance Low Profile DDR3 1600mhz Dual Channel Kit with Black Heatsinks

Plus Kingfast 256 SSD Sata III $116
LG DVD-RW existing
Old 500gb hard drive as back up.
Graphics card not used.
Multi card reader not used, no where to mount it on this case nor spare pins on board.

OS currently Linux Mint 17.2, I may find a copy of Windows 7 pro and go to windows 10.

I paid more because I wanted the cube style case, the motherboard was more expensive.

The case is bigger than I wanted due to using 5.25 LG DVD-RW. I elected not to use my old graphics card as the new on board graphics are excellent.

In summary great experience, a very nice home destop (not gaming spec) cost $605, plus $116 for the SSD and a couple of parts I had. Although I could have bought cheaper.
The fast boot, shut down and responsiveness with an SSD, is tremendous.

If you are on a budget then a build may not be cheaper.

Just brought an ex lease lenovo for $500.

Core i7 2600
8gb ram
Small case, quiet/silent operation etc
Windows 7 Pro COA

It doesn't have a graphics card, but a small & low power one (like a 750 ti) could easily be added.
Seems like better value.

Yea I don't have any experience in overclocking the G3258 but didn't think there would be much headroom with the stock cooler. If he didn't want to overclock, swapping out the cpu for an i3 would be better.

Ex-lease pcs may be cheaper but I don't know how big the cases on those are and whether they'd fit a graphics card
