Hi I am trying to help a work mate out with upgrading his PC.

I have given him my old 2500k, gigabyte x68x motherboard and corsair hx650 psu. I also helped him choose a 2nd hand asus r9-280x.

The issue I am having is when the card is in either pci slot it will not POST, no beeps or anything.

I have tried different cards in it (hd69670 and 980) and they both work.

I also tried the 280x in my pc and it also works.

I am currently trying it out of the case with nothing plugged in and still not getting anywhere.

anyone have any ideas?
