My mouse was lagging and then the cursor disappeared. The nano WiFi receiver is showing as working as is the mouse but I have tried everything Logitech suggests and it still won't connect. I have a great old Asus laptop.. Somewhere in the back of my mind I remember something about pressing a point on the touch pad but I can't remember what it was. Can anyone give advice otherwise I will drive to the city and buy a new mouse or receiver. Many thanks.

I take it you've done the obvious and changed the batteries?

Have you tried new batteries?  Seems obvious but could be problem ... also, using 'new' batteries that have been in the drawer all year often don't cut the mustard either.

Also, check the battery terminals inside as one may have corroded a little ... scratch them with a small screwdriver.

Thank you both for responding.  Yes, new battery and the little light on the top of the mouse is on and is sort of going on and off like it is thinking.
No corrosion.

Going On and Off (sort of pulsing) usually means the mouse is looking for the receiver.'It is one of the Logitech Unifying receiver that can pair with other devices at the same time?

Have you got the software? http://support.logitech.com/n_us/software/unifying
