when plugged into desktop - does that mean my pc if fine and the speakers faulty?

i have logitech z213 sub and speakers less than a year old.  the sound out of them was never great but they stopped working and the green light on the switch thingy doesn't come on anymore.  if i just plug the two little speakers directly into the pc instead of the sub i can get faint sound but that's about it.  sound with headphones plugged in is crystal clear.

Sounds like the amp in the main unit is playing up - or the power switch is. I've got a set of Logitech speakers that were playing up and now no longer turn on and Im convinced its the power switch being flaky as the LED would come on and off as well. If I can break into the speaker with the power switch, Ill try sorting it out...

In this case yes there is a problem.

The green light indicates power is getting to the speaker system. No light, no power. There is a problem.
