I'm trying to utilise some old PC parts to put together a basic file server for at home. I realised I need a new PSU, so considered getting a second hand one, but then thought it's probably a better idea to update my aging (about 8 years) Seasonic S12 from my main PC with something new and use the Seasonic in the server. I saw this on Newegg:

 http://www.newegg.com/global/nz/Product/Product.aspx?Item=9SIA68V21E0633&utm_medium=BehEmail&cm_mmc=EMCCA-042016-_-ASC-_-Bluecore-_-Content&utm_campaign=Cart_Abandon&obem=Gr570KNgqbJyjJ1cg0HQn7GgrHR6gs3vSn5nK1SwZS8%3D&utm_source=Bluecore

I haven't heard of the brand, can't find a lot of information on it, but seems to be generally positive what I could. Seems like a great deal at $70 NZD but not so much when the shipping nearly doubles the price. I'm a bit out of the loop on current PSUs, is there something around the $150 NZD also worth considering? Preferably quiet, around 700-800w, and that will last a long time.

A PSU is not something I would bother importing. The chances of a component going south and being left with a heavy dead duck makes it not worth it IMO.

You can get 700W+ from $100 locally

Unfortunately no filter for sound level.

Thanks for the replies, mighty ape will do this PSU  for $161 + postage, which seems like it might be good, I think it should be powerful enough for the foreseeable future, it was also one of the products listed at quietpc.co.nz
