We have different friends using different systems for messaging and chatting (IM and PC to PC calling), some are on google talk, some windows live and some yahoo messenger.  It does get a bit frustrating having to open and use all of them, especially as we cant always get them to work for us (calling people, adding contacts etc).

Someone mentioned something called Pidgin, that combines all these services into one package.  Is this true?  Is it easy to use?  Any good?  Steer well clear of it?  Leave everything alone and keep going as we are???

Thanks.

It works well, and is safe. I am not sure that any of the multi-protocol IM programs (Trillian etc) can do voice calling on the major networks (MSN, Yahoo etc), and they probably all have limited webcam support.

I tend to use the seperate clients to get full functionality.

Thanks, I might just do that.  I'd like to keep the voice calling.
