Does anyone have experience with or informed comments about M-DISC? Your data good for a thousand years

Reading the Wikipedia entry M-DISC, it seems that it avoids the necessity to incorporate a reflective layer (which can deteriorate/oxidise). Normal DVD & Blu-ray do use a reflective layer(s).

M-DISC seems a real possibility for archival backup, since it can write to 100GB triple-layer disks and uses inorganic phase change material (maybe even physical pitting), but see a sceptic’s (Vladan’s) comments at the end of this: So what's up with M-DISC?
