I have a mp3 type flash disc that i use for data storage that i can nolonger access.

i plug it into my computer and i go into "my computer" and it freezes but when i unplug it it flashes up its name in the list and dissapears

the drive appears in the hardware remove list while pluged in tho

HELP!!

I have a Adata 2gb flash drive they i used to backup work data..
It stopped working after about a year :(
sounds like same thing

do you always safely remove it via the taskbar when you're finished with it? you may have corrupted your usb drivers if you just pulled it out. my mate managed to blow his motherboard by not disconnecting his properly. very rare for that to happen though. make sure you're usb drivers are working and up to date and also check your device manager list and see if it's there and if theres any exclamation mark next to it.

yeah it still doesn't work. it just doesn't like reading it. i tryed scaning for hardware changes but that freezes the whole pc and as soon as i pull it out it goes fine again

have you tried it in an alternative pc? does it require software to be recognised or is it plug and play?

yeah i tryed it in our other pc and it did the same thing.

is there anyway you're able to flash its firmware or format it? sounds like whatever files that it stores to make it plug n play have corrupted or dissapeared.
