Has anyone got a link to a list of domains for the "you may also like" type of "services".

They are getting beyond annoying never have any relevance and are usually spam or phishing type sites or click bait. Why anyone thinks these things are worth adding is beyond me.

My google foo is not working on this one and there are now so many different services the list would be quite long. So anyone know if a list already exists. BTW I'm not wanting to disable ads, they are not bothering me and they keep the provide financial support to the site creators and sometimes are relevant. So it would need to be a list dedicated to this type of "service"

Depends what you're after, if you going to block anything it'll always cause some negatives to the content providers (whether its Ads, Trackers, Social or Annoyances).

Tapoola, Zergnet, revcontent are the sort of things I'm looking to block. Ok it may hit them in the pocket but these services are hopeless Its because of these that I even want to install an ad blocker.

They are increasingly showing links to dodgy sites more so than I have ever had with traditional ads. The main reason for asking for a list of only these types of services is that the number of different sites doing the same thing has ballooned recently.

I would use adblockers to stop these services because

They most advertise click-bait with worthless content or
They advertise scam artists that have pages with spyware, get rich quick scams and so on

I wouldn't use adblockers for actual advertisement (and as it just happens I don't use adblockers for actual advertisement).

Maybe you could just the Element Picker in uBlock (or Adblock Plus, ugh) to block the elements?

That's how I remove a lot of content from sites that pop up with "We notice you're blocking ads" and stuff like that. Just crack out the Element Picker, block them, done.

If you did this without using any of the Filter Lists, I think it'd do what you want.

You'd have to do it for each site though, so maybe it won't scale for you.

I think those things are just considered ads and so are included in the general adblock lists. Sorry, better get element selectin', as muppet said.

Seeing as there does not appear to be a list then I have decided to roll my own.

I have uploaded the list that I have built so far. I'm not going to say it is complete in fact I'm sure its not.

You can find it on github at https://github.com/geocom/AdblockPlus_YouMayLike/ the ReadMe includes install instructions if you would like to add the Filter list into your install.
