You have $480 to spend on a new motherboard/cpu.....
What do you get ?

You play a few games such as CS:Source, CoD4, WoW........ bit of home video work (DVD) and usual internet/geek stuff :)

RAM/PCI-X Video/Drives etc not reqd as already purchased.

So far Ive been told to look at a Asus P5K board with a Core 2 Duo 6750.......

What else do people recommend ? :)

Yep, P5k or one of the many variants depending on what you need. Intel E8200 or E8400 if you can stretch it. I've got a P5K-SE board on TM for $80 at the 'mo.  No raid or firewire but the board's been rock solid.

Intel 8200 CPU
2GB DDR2
Asus Radeon X1900 512MB
