With enough room for a mouse and keyboard and thats it. Something cheap so when we move we can either give it away or throw it away to the charity house.

Anyone seen something small lately? clearly want to avoid shaking as much as possible, but realistic with the weight of a monitor. or alternatively we need a cheap dining room table that could double as a desk.

Our apartment is tiny, think japanese tiny. But I like it, we are minimalists anyway.

That looks perfect size wise. And it looks solid.

We have a 60mm wide computer desk that we probably won't need in about a week. The old type, chipboard construction with a slide-out keyboard tray, space for a tower PC, shelf above the monitor, etc. Designed for CRT's so it'll handle a 24" LCD with no issues, if it fits. If not you can probably just remove the part above desk level. Can be disassembled with an allen key.

EDIT: In Auckland

I assumed they wanted the 24" monitor placed sideways.

Depending on the type of use, wallmount might be a solution. I haven't tried this, but I'd be looking at buying a simple wall mount and 3M Command Adhesive products. Your 24" would have to be a recent one to be light enough for confidence with that.

On the other hand if you can wall mount directly the weight is not an issue.

Considering putting it on a kitchen table, but the jokes were funny although not very accurate ;-p

That desk looks easily wide enough for a 24" screen.

Let me know if you're interested in the 600mm wide computer desk. Should be available in a few days.

Check out Warehouse etc, don't worry about cheap and rickety, a few right angle brackets will work wonders (E=MC2)  Same if you came across any other suitable but unstable table. (Rhyme not intentional.)
