I have managed to lose the small nut that is used for mounting the barrel on a PICO PSU to the case:

I've been up to Mitre10 this morning and tried both M8 and 5/16 nuts and neither work, does anybody know what size nut to us?

I bought a whole lot of those panelmount sockets off aliexpress for a project. Wont be able to find them for a while so probably faster to order some more from aliexpress/similar.

It is part of the standard for the threaded locking DC plugs, so you might find the specs of the thread that way. Did you check both fine and normal threads or just whatever mitre10 had on the shelf? Supercheap auto have a test thing for bolts and nuts on the rotating stand of overpriced packs of fasteners, but I dont think they would have anything thin enough to not block up the plug from going all the way in.

Tired whatever that had on the shelf. Their packaging didn't differentiate between fine and normal threads...

Might try Supercheap this afternoon, but I suspect this might be a lost cause...

THis http://www.mouser.com/pdfdocs/sealeddcpowerbulletin.pdf shows it as a 7/16 - 32 TPI. No idea if that is a standard size or one of the fine ones etc tho.

For anyone who finds them-self in a similar situation. The nut from one of these did the trick.
