Hi all,

Knowing next to nothing about RS-232 type things, I was wondering if someone could help me out. I'm trying to work out a way to have a push button switch that is connected to a PC via serial port which I can then detect using appropriate software (basically a very simple doorbell - I should be able to handle the software part).

My question is, how do I wire this so that when the button is in the "ON" position, a signal is sent to the serial port?

Thanks in advance :)
