Hi all
I recently bought a new Samsung 32" monitor (S32D850, 2560x1440). I have an issue where sometimes (approx. 10% of the time) it doesn't wake up properly after going into sleep state. The only way I have found to get to wake up is to turn it off and on again. That wouldn't be so bad, but I have a dual monitor setup and cycling the monitor power causes the rearrangement of all my windows onto the main screen.
My old main monitor was a Dell 24" (1920x1200). My second monitor is a Dell 20" (1600x1200). I am running Win 7 and have a GTX 960 graphics card.
I was using DVI for both monitors before I bought the new Samsung. But the higher res meant I had to switch to DisplayPort for the new one. The other monitor is still using DVI.
One interesting thing I discovered was that if I drop the resolution on my main screen from 2560x1440 to 1920x1200, the problem goes away. But obviously that's not a permanent solution. I want full res :)
Does anyone have any idea what might be going on? I haven't been able to find anything online as to what could be the problem. It seems to me the problem is likely to be the monitor, but I can't be sure, and I am fast running out of ways to refine the diagnosis :)
Open for suggestions for things to try before I return the monitor and try a new one.
