Hi, sorry if this is in the wrong forum.

My gaming Pc has been playing up lately, randomly turns off while gaming or doing simple things like web browsing.
I have to either leave it unplugged for 20+ minutes or flick the on and off button on the power supply while turning my Pc power button on to get it working again.
It never gets hot.

Most people I've mentioned this to have told me it is most likely the power supply, but I am not sure, so I am in need of a new one to see if it fixes the problem, my psu is over 3 yeas old so I can't take it back to computer lounge where I bought my Pc from.

My power supply is a seasonic ssp 450rt

I prefer Silverstone or Corsair PSU's myself, never had an issue with them. Most systems are more than happy with 500W but as mentioned above, let us know what specs youre running etc.

Go to the outervision PSU calculator .. plug in your parts and it will tell you the real world load you will see :

Once you know if the 500W units you are considering are OK then you can check reviews etc. Best review sites on PSU are Johnny Guru or Hardware Secrets
