Its' an HP model OVU400102/71. Bought it from Ebay to use with the Pi about 3 years ago and has just stopped working.

Pi reports at bootup something about the USB port not responding (I forget the actual text).

There's a wee box (receiver?) and the remote itself. Batteries been replaced. I suspect the receiver has

died. Can I test this anyhow? If connected to Win 10 PC it just says not recognised.

Any thoughts on where I might get another ?

Do you use it with a Kodi variant (i.e. OpenElec, OSMC or LibreElec)?

Have you considered using CEC via HDMI if your TV supports it?

Then you can just use your TV remote to control it.

They cost about $15, just toss it out and buy another.

Thanks. Did you mean buy another remote, or just the receiver -and from ?

This is a particularly good one, not rubbery membrane type so if it could be resurrected so much the better.

We still have the TV remote (Panasonic) that works (CEC ?) but those who use this tell me

the HP one is much better, and the responses/features on the Pi vary with each.

I got the HP one, it cost about US$12 on ebay from memory, years ago. I use my Harmony remote with that receiver, which is plugged into my Pi2.
