We need to get a replacement A3 laser printer and scanner and it need to following features:

Scan to email by address book.
Scan to PDF to USB/FTP/SMB or even cloud storage.
Print colour A4/A3 print jobs for excel and other documents, not necessarily photo quality.
Automatic Document Feed with Duplex scanning.
Duplex Printing.
Ideally a small foot print.
And non-expensive toner (this is just wishful thinking).

Currently we have a Sharp MX2600 and it's given up the ghost with constant paper jams.

I find Brother a good brand for home office. It sounds like you almost want the top end commercial features that corporates use.

Yes, almost the top end but it has so many extra features that we just don't need like document secure printing.

Those software features are basically free to add once developed, so expect more of those and less things that need hardware like duplex at the low end of the market.

I found it impossible to find a cheap color laser with duplex on both scan and print. There was a cheap black and white printing one. Really the need for printing is pretty much gone now so I just use a effectivly free inkjet one to scan reciepts on and anything else fire up the smelly big laser out in the garage.

Try Fuji Xerox as they often have reconditioned ex-lease printers available at reasonable price.

In 2011 I bought a DocuCentre C2200 and it's still going strong. I have it on a maintenance contract that includes toner - at a cost that is way less per year than I was spending on toner for my last laser printer. It's not small though and is overkill for my one man business, but I made the right choice. Looked at all the new ones the time, but this was similar price and hugely better specced.

Nokia 6110, 6210, 6234, Sony Ericsson XPERIA X1, Huawei Ideos X5 (Windows Mobile), Samsung Galaxy SIII, LG G4, OnePlus 5, iPhone Xs Max (briefly), S21 Ultra. And I thought I hadn't had many phones - but the first one around 1997.
