Something I've not thought of before ... how does a wireless (not Bluetooth) mouse and/or keyboard 'know' which computer receiver/dongle is being used?

In other words, in a room full of computers using wireless devices, why doesn't the machine alongside me respond to my mouse instead of my computer? The waveband being used can't be that wide?

I suspected as much ... same as the way I get recalcitrant computers to fire up by waving chicken entrails over them?

That used to be an issue with some models.

If 2 in Office had same particular wireless mouse, each mouse could control both PC's :-)

They have better magic now.

The k/b mouse is Bound to the dongle (or vice versa) . Will be some sort of ID to keeps other mices out .

hey mate, devices are paired with their receivers from factory

to answer a potential follow up question, if the wireless receiver is lost you can get replacements and use logitchs wireless unifying software to pair your existing devices and even pair additional ones to cut down on the amount of receivers :)

Logitech do bluetooth pairing, the MX Master can do that with 3 computers, you hit a button on the bottom to choose the PC to control.
