Anyone know what is happening to stuff.co.nz website. It seems to be serving up a mobile website which comes up as i.stuff.co.nz

I hate that format when on a desktop or laptop. the old version of mostly text pages was much nicer. Tried accessing the old format but it wont let me

Does it actually show i.stuff.co.nz in the address bar and do you get it in all browsers?

Recently they have been trialling a beta site that looks a bit like their mobile site on random for some visitors, I could 'opt out' from a prompt in the lower right hand corner.

Yes it always comes up with the i.stuff.co.nz and I cannot see any way of opting out of it. But you did suggest trying another browser which worked. So now how do I fix Chrome?

They seem to primarily make the switch based on user agent, although they could use cookies to store the preference for later sessions so it might pay to delete all stored cookies as well or use Incognito mode to test.

My wife regularly invokes this ... by accident of course innocent

After typing "stuff" into google, she often selects the first option offered, and that is likely to be the i.stuff site, whereas selecting the next search item down will give you the normal Stuff pages for a PC.  Just clear the browser cache, then select the second search item for stuff, and you should be fine from then on.

Also, get on the correct site, then save it as a Favourite onto the Icon bar and you are set for life wink

are you sure you did not just click on mobile site on the stuff website by accident.

Scroll right to the bottom of a stuff web page, and click on desktop site?
