YAY!  no more memory leaks!  I've been running the beta's and release candidates for a few months now and I've been very impressed.  It's far snappier to load and open tabs, and much quicker at rendering pages.

Check out the Mozilla blog for more info: http://blog.mozilla.com/ and sign up for download day so we can all help to set a world record :) http://www.spreadfirefox.com/en-US/worldrecord/

Let the countdown begin.

If anybody out there can't get a timer or just can't take the time to count, here is a pretty detailed count down counter that I made.

Yep, it blows IE7 completely out of the water.  IE8 was also given a less-than-complimentary review in the latest PC World.

Having tried Firefox 3 for the past 2 or 3 weeks, I will never bother with MS IE* bloatware again.

Firefox 3 is just so much faster I cannot believe it.  Even on really simple things like when you press the back arrow, it is instant instead of pausing like IE does.  Also, after nearly 3 weeks now, Firefox has not crashed at all.  IE7 crashes at least once a week on average in my experience, and when this happens, all my saved pages and favicons disappear Yell

Firefox has not lost one single piece of data so far Cool

Even so, I would rather wait because:
  • it would overload the server before it's official release, which is just a sad thing to do to Mozilla's servers.
  • it wouldn't help break the world record
  • it ruins the fun Smile
Seriously, Mozilla has to mirror to other sites to even out the load. Now it's completely overloaded.

Kind of as a note, if RC 3 doesn't need any more bugs to be fixed, it basically IS the final.

So, all of us Firefox 3rc3 users could be running the "final" release! Laughing

EDIT: TechnoGuy's Firefox 3 file is exactly the same as Firefox 3rc3! (as well as many of my other downloads too)...

I quite like how Mozilla is going to redesign their website at launch!

They've even got a "Firefox v.s. IE" comparison!
