Trying to figure out whether it is worth upgrading RAM in a Z210 workstation I use, currently installed with 8GB but wanting to go to 16GB. Cannot for the life of me find compatible RAM.

Seems to be Unbuffered ECC? Can anyone point me in the right direction please...

I've got the Z420 and did an upgrade to 32gb of ram.

In the end I found the cheapest place to grab ram was ebay - ended up getting a matching set to my existing ram (4x 4gb dimms) for $41.33 shipped. In ebay, I simply did a search for the ram I already had and purchased the same.

Not sure if this is helpful, but from what I found the Z420 was very picky with memory. Initially, I purchased 64gb of what I thought was compatible ram but turns out it wasn't. For the Xeon (depending on what type you have) it'll likely be unbuffered ECC however you're best to check what ram you've got and go from there.

Go to Kingston, Corsair etc websites

They will have a RAM picker tool , where you specify / search for your exact PC & they will list 100% compatable ram (with a kingston product code)
Then google NZ search for that product number (may be available via Ingram etc)

Some HP's can be very fussy with RAM. Just the way it is

Used the Crucial RAM picker to get a part number. Used that to search NZ and found that PBTech had the 4GB sticks for $59.

Solved and now the beast is humming with 16GB RAM.
