Following on from my previous post about ryzen systems and the advice to go for an Intel build instead due to plex...

System is our main media center/hub and will serve as our plex server and recorder for 2 HD I. P security cameras.
Current system has hdmi straight to TV and audio via optical spdif to an older (tsxr607? Onkyo amp). I'm not sure what the future proofing is like in terms of the hdmi throughput for higher hdmi versions or 4k.

Here's some components..
I3 8100 CPU
GSKILL RIPJAWS 2400mhz ram
Windows 10 home edition
Some sort of h370 Atx motherboard... (suggestions on a good mobo that has decent USB 3.1 usbc ports.
Any snags or traps to look out for?

You’ll have to check the motherbord specs whether it has a hdmi 2.0 or not. The 8100 can support 4k at 60Hz but it’ll depend on what connector you use.

If your motherboard has pcie lanes to spare you can always get usb c cards to plug in so you dont have to worry about them being integrated. Or buy a case with the ports.

Not sure what you mean about traps...all I can say is are you confident about the 8100 performance and your requirements? You can also avoid some hdmi shenanigans if you get a discrete graphics card with the supported connectors. Iirc plex can also do graphics card offload for encode/decode when streaming.
