Hi

One of my PC's is set up to reboot every night... 98% of the time it will restart with no problems...
Then randomly; it will reboot, but won't start up again and i get the following message...

the following configuration options were automatically updated

CD-ROM- Sony CDROM CDU523 1
No IDE fixed disk present

DISK 33820 Samsung SPO411N

No changes have been made to this PC in years (has been at a remote site ticking along nicely without any problems, then one day it just started doing this...

Any Ideas??

I have run a couple of diagnostics and the drive seems to be fine...
have checked all the cables etc...
Have googled the problem- some seem to think it may be the BIOS or CMOS battery

if it were the battery, wouldnt i get the system date/time error when i booted?
or if it is starting to die, would i just get irregular faults like i am getting with the config options updating?
(but perhaps its still got enough juice in it to keep the date time etc?)
