I've opened Firefox this morning and going to www.google.co.nz get this message

I seem to now be running Firefox 69.01. www.google.com is OK but i get similar errors for a number of sites including YouTube.

I've googled for an answer and only get 1 hit from a day ago about Firefox 69.01 so guess its a recent update.

Uhh, what certificate shows up when you click Advanced -> View certificate?

Also is the time on your computer correct? Does this happen in other browsers or on other devices?

This was my thought too. SSL deep inspection, which would be an issue in Firefox, due to it not using the Windows certificate store, like almost every other browser does.

No this is a home Win 10 PC and the problem didn't exist yesterday.

If you Google "Firefox 69.01 issues" there are posts only from the past 2 days.

BTW www.Google.com is OK and will then switch to www.google.co.nz without problems.

Embedded Youtube videos fail but if I go to www.google.com and log into Google and go to YouTube I can then see emebeded videos again.

I did see a post about a similar problem when Firefox 67.01 was released...... just tried to find the post and the search took me to www.mozilla.org and that url has the problem. Go figure? I guess Firefox have stuffed up their release in some way.

This isn't just Firefox

I've now tried Firefox, Chrome, Internet Explorer and Chromium on Win 10 and Ubuntu 18.04 across three seperate machines and I'm getting the same problem with all of them.

www.google.com works but www.google.co.nz fails as does the sites for ASB, BNZ, Kiwibank.

What is going on?

Hmm, could you have a router or computer thats been compromised? That message would worry me.

I would expect ebay.com, paypal.com etc. to have their very own certificates, and it being on the same certificate seems wrong.

It's reporting a self-signed certificate. Have you installed any firewall or antivirus software recently?

Its sorted now thanks.

A port forward on my modem was setup incorrectly. The problem not helped by the modem being locked down by the ISP so not being directly accessible.

Confused by the fact that some sites worked and others didn't. At first I thought it was due to a Firefox update that had happened very recently. Finding the same on other PC's and browsers didn't work led me to call the ISP..
