Ive bought a new setup, but there is a slight chance the motherboard will not accept the 3rd gen Ryzen until the BIOS is upgraded.

Is there anyone on the North Shore/Hibiscus Coast area that has a Gen 1/2 Ryzen I could borrow on standby ? :)

Im hoping the board does have a new enough BIOS but never know.......

Not on the North Shore but I do have the necessary CPUs to sort this out, so if you get really stuck you could courier your CPU & Board down...

Just be aware that a lot of mainboards lose support for the older athlon CPUs before they get support for 3rd gen Ryzen - you've got to do the updates in quite a specific order.

I thought most new boards allowed you to flash bios with no CPU?

Yeah, will see how I go. If can only get so far and still find I'm stuck, I'll take it into Playtech/PBtech and get them to do it.

Depends on the motherboard I used it to flash my gigabyte bios and it worked well :)
