Hi,

This is probably a stupid question..... I'm good at asking those ;-)  But I want to finally buy a better monitor for photo editing. I want to get a 27 inch IPS Panel Monitor that has 2560x1440 pixels. Before I buy this Xmas present for myself I want to just check that my computer system will run it ok. I think it will but want to check.

My system has a 2047MB NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1050 graphics card

                        Ram is 16.0GB Dual-Channel DDR3 @ 798MHz (11-11-11-28)

                        CPU is    Intel Core i5 3470 @ 3.20GHz  Ivy Bridge 22nm

OS is   Windows 10 Pro 64 bit

I don't EVER play games so that is not relevant for me.

Thanks in advance :-)

you will be fine photo editing is not very graphics intensive.

it can be if your program supports using it for processing pictures/video but that has nothing to do with your monitor and it will still display fine.

As above.

I use two 32" BenQ high-definition monitors - one 2560 x 1440, and one 3840 x 2160 ("4k").

Both work perfectly well with a GeForce GTX 1050 graphics card.

I find the 2560 x 1440 easier to work with than the 4k one - a 4k screen can get very "crowded".

They are used for photo editing and publication layout work.

I am not a gamer.

Thank you Jase2985 and Sideface 😃 much appreciated. The BenQ will be a bit above my budget from what I have seen so far. I'm thinking of trying to decide on one or two and then wait for the Boxing Day sales, or before Xmas sales if there are any.

The BenQ brand is more expensive, but is worth it if you are a heavy user.

I spend at least 8 hours a day in front of monitors ...

"Low Blue Light Technology: experience instant eye strain relief allowing for lasting viewing comfort in home or office"

This is NOT just a sales pitch.  It works.

BenQs are also very reliable.

Thanks Sideface, I am not a heavy user, editing photos is just my passion and hobby.
