I’m running a Veon 48” as a monitor on a standing desk. The colour contrast around text isn’t fantastic if the background is not white, but it’s worked for me for the best part of a year. I love having all that real estate.

Usually works fine sometimes picture looks fuzzy but usually means your in the  wrong HDMI port or need to make it act in what Samsung call PC Mode then it sharpens the image.

Purchased a 2nd hand 43inch Samsung 4k TV to use as a monitor last month - very happy with it.

So I would say GO.

Monitors are setup for you to sit up close to, TV's are setup for viewers 4m away.

Could you find a store with one and check the colours and brightness on the screen edges looking up close
