FeedDemon is my pick. I have a Newsgator account and I sync FeedDemon with it - I can then read online, on my mobile device or desktop and it's always in sync.

Out of interest, what issues are you having with Google Reader? I've been a happy user for several years now.

I want to add a couple of private RSS feeds and it seems Google sees this as an opportunity to index them.  This isn't going to work, so I need to find a new reader.

I use FeedDemon and have an NewsGator account. Its very handy and you can also use it even within Outlook (if you are Outlook user) !

FeedDeamon here as well.  Sync home work and mobile.

You can set stuff up not to sync as well.
