I upgraded to a Dual Core and my motherboard has no Parallel Port, I brought a ST Labs PCI Parallel Port card to connect to my Panasonic DP-1810F (printer/copier/scanner/fax). I can print but can not communicate to the scanner using the Panasonic Document Management System, I checked Device Manager and instead of showing a ECP Printer Port LPT1 port type it shows "PCI Parallel Port" as port type. If I can get a ECP Printer Port to show as port type I'm sure I can use the Panasonic Document Management System to communitcate to the scanner, anybody know what hardware I need or how to setup a ECP Port in Device Manager? Thanks

Have you checked your bios parallel port settings? usually you have to tell it to do ECP.  At least that used to be the problem "back in the day" the only parallel printers I deal with now are connected to print servers anyway.
