Hi team,

Long story short - purchased a Lenovo AIO January 2020 from the Warehouse Stationary. Looks like one of the RAM sticks is bad.

Checked with Lenovo and because it's out of warranty, they won't touch it (unless I pay for it). I note that these Samsung RAM modules have Lifetime Warranty, although it's likely not applicable in this case.

Do I have grounds to claim CGA with the Warehouse Stationary? All I want is the RAM replaced.

Thanks.

Forgot to mention, I'm getting startup lag and BSOD ntfs.sys at random (AMD Ryzen 5 2400GE, 8GB, SSD)

Yes absolutely - go to Warehouse Stationery, see what they can do. If they refuse to help you mention CGA, and if they still refuse ask to speak with their manager or someone who knows the CGA.

(Is it used for personal or business purposes though?)

It's barely over a year old, I'd hammer them with the CGA.. I'd expect even a bottom of the barrel new PC to last 3+ years.

Bugger, no CGA, you'll just have to lump it most likely.

On the other had, for the price of a stick of RAM, save yourself some grief & just replace it yourself

That's not true. The CGA does apply unless they contract out of it in writing.

It's applicable (btw lifetime = expected life of the memory module).

RTB (return to base) warranties apply for "a reasonable period" (about 1yr), after that claims are made through manufacturer (RMA).

In my experience cutting out the middleman (retailer) & dealing directly with the manufacturer can make the claims process less painful since WS will only send the machine back to Lenovo's service centre anyway.

So far as the defective module is concerned, you should be covered by Samsung's warranty and then CGA on top of that.

I'd first contact Samsung, although they may advise dealing with Lenovo.

I would be very surprised if any warranty that Samsung offer on ram sold through their retail channel applied to parts sold to Lenovo. Lenovo warrant the computer as a box.

I'll give replacing the RAM stick myself a go - should be fine. Thanks!
