The case im looking to get is the [ANTEC] NINE HUNDRED GAMING CASE. At the moment it is on sale for $179 at C1 shopping mall for 50 hours left http://www.c1com.co.nz/shop/countdown.php and the next cheapest is at PB Tech Hamilton BUT in Hamilton for $185.00 http://www.pbtechnz.com/index.php?item=CHAATC900 making the real next price $191.81 at Expert Infotech http://www.einfo.co.nz/shop/product...oducts_id=11640 how ever Expert Infotech are not a recommended company making me buy it for $199 at computer lounge according to price spy, and they seem to be a very reliable company. Though on their site it says $219

My question is since im going to build this pc at around Christmas do i buy it at C1 shoping mall now and save my self $19-39 or do i wait till January and see if the price has dropped to or below $179

And what actually happens when the C1 timer reaches 0?, just restarts or the product goes of sale? if any one knows.

This is the build, for gaming.

MotherBoard: Asustek P5Q Pro Intel P45 ATX:$182.25
Graphics card: ATI Radeon HD 4850 512MB graphics card:$280.00
Case: Antec Nine Hundred Tower Gaming Case:$179.95
Ram : G.SKILL 4GB kit G.SKILL DDR2-1000 PC8000 CL5-5-5-15 2GB x 2:$149
Power: Supply: Thermaltake Toughpower 750W $226.40
DVD Writer: Asustek DRW-2014L1T Serial-ATA DVD Writer:$41.58
CPU: Intel Core 2 Quad Q6600, 2.4GHz, LGA775, quad core:$309.30
Microsoft Windows Vista Ultimate OEM 64-bit:$290.25
Hard Drive: Western Digital 640GB SATA 7200rpm hard drive:$121.49
Monitor: LG W2252TQ 22" LCD 1680x1050 $358.87
Keyboard: Logitech G11 Gaming Keyboard: $88.09
Logitech G5 Laser Mouse:$85.93

So if any there are any other case recommendations to fit this all in please suggest.
And what is the main purpose to upgrade to a full tower tower and what are its advangtages over a ATX case.
Also will the Antec 900 be future proof for bang for buck system like this for many years to come. For example will it support the new Intel core i7 cpu motherboards, and larger graphic cards and such.

Thanks

If your mind is set on that case get it now. C1 are probably clearing stock, as the RRP of the case there is $376.74 and they might not have any left if you wait. There are a few benefits to the full tower case. ie. More airflow=better potential cooling, more room for upgrades eg extra hdd's, water cooling, extra graphics card etc as well more room to tinker around in there. It's hard to say how future proof the Antec is. But it should suit your exisiting setup with upgrades in mind. With things like solid state drives, cpu's and graphics cards using less power and creating less heat, small could be the new 'big'. The choice is yours at the end of the day. Good luck on your build.

Cheers;-)

What do you mean, by saying a full tower case can offer more graphic cards? I looked on google and the antec can hold the largest cards possible in crossfire or SLI. Do you think graphics card sizes will come to a point where they cant fit in a ATX case like a antec 900?

Thanks

I buy from C1, once the countdown is gone its usually really gone and I doubt you will get anything more at that price.

I was merely using the graphics card as one example of the benefits of a full case. And if you were running 'Quad Crossfire' you would benefit from that extra space the full tower gives. No I don't think graphics card will out grow an atx case in the near future. In fact I said the antec should suit your existing setup "with upgrades in mind.". Anyhow, keep checking out google. The more informed you are the better your decisions will be when it comes to spending the $$$.

yea the disicision people are making is between the antec 900 and the coolmaster 690.

The main difference is the antec 900 has better airflow, needed for gaming, while the coolmaster 690 has slighty more room.

I guess with the antec 900 that if the graphic cards lenght was a problem it could go into an empty slot bay? And a 120mm fan would then be able to hit more air on to it. Though the biggest cards still have around 3cm of spare or more before it hits the slots.
