Afternoon all,

I am struggling to find a NZ vendor for an adapter to convert a 3 pin 12V cable for my Noctua fan to a 2 pin 12V port on the motherboard of my 3D printer PSU.

Something like these:

https://www.aliexpress.com/item/32810405065.html?spm=a2g0o.productlist.0.0.61db6b81SssVFr&algo_pvid=bf58ef8b-76ed-4c3f-bc08-9f33ad4d5476&algo_exp_id=bf58ef8b-76ed-4c3f-bc08-9f33ad4d5476-0

https://www.ebay.com/itm/284387386740

Is anyone able to point me in the right direction?

Thanks,

Cru

If you're not concerned about aesthetics, cut the cables and splice/solder them together. Then you can make the cable as long as required without too much excess.

You can always reattach the original connectors in the future if needed.

Afternoon mate. I don't have a soldering iron or heatshrink so would need to buy those. People keep suggesting I buy those tools, it's almost like a membership card for the cult of 3d printing xD

Thanks for the suggestion. It's a decent plan D

In the meantime, you could always strip the insulation back, twist the wires together & apply tape to hold it all together & insulated.

Yes, they are basic tools for this sort of work. Its like trying to work on your car without the right tools.

Try trademe , often can find this sort of thing there.

Maybee try PBTech, Surplustronics etc ?

Or just buy another fan, really not that expensive. Trademe has a 3d printer parts section
