Hi,

I want to connect my HDTV (720p) to my PC as a secondary monitor mainly to view movies on.

My graphics card has a DVI out and my HDTV has VGA and HDMI inputs.

Would I be recommended to use a DVI-VGA or DVI-HDMI for this? and would there be any noticeable difference in quality?

you'll be best to use a DVI->HDMI as they are both digital there will be no loss of quality. If you choose DVI->VGA it will need to convert the digital output from the DVI port into a degradable analogue signal.
