Hi guys, just curious to know how much ram my motherboard would handle..
THe wording on the website has got me confused. It says

Memory2 x DIMM, max.2 GB, DDR2 667/ 533, ECC, non-ECC, un-buffered memory
Dual Channel Architecture
http://asus.com/products.aspx?l1=3&l2=101&l3=324&l4=0&model=1282&modelmenu=2

Does this mean it only supports 2gb all up? or 2x2gb?

Oh really? :S

Now im confused..

I cant seem to find any information on the net about this either, which is making this worse..

So you are definitely using an M2V-TVM with 3gb ram?

Just want to be absolutely sure before i go and grab 3 or 4gb of ram.

It's common to only list what is tested or "supported" in the specifications.

I have heaps of motherboards which will run much faster/higher specs than specified, often they just need BIOS updates though sometimes a downgrade can "fix"! and usually they work fine though do note that brands of RAM may vary.

Good examples are:
N95 phone supports "up to 2GB card" yet it actually functions fine with a 16GB card.

Old motherboard with an ancient Pentium2 chipset that supports up to 533MHz yet is running a Pentium4 architecture chip at well beyond the motherboard clock rating (1.1GHz)

I have also stuck on ISA slots on motherboards with provisions for them but not installed and voila, they worked!
