I've got a older version of Phoenix BIOS eithre 3.4 or 6.0 i can not remember (i'm at work now) but need to change the default BOOT drive from A drive to CD rom.

How do I do this in set up with this version. Ever tutorial I found looks different to my BIOS menu.

What brand of computer/motherboard is it? Even though it may be a Pheonix Bios every MB maker/OEM will customise it to their own requirements.

A lot of MB's will give you a boot menu when if you press F12 during post.
