Let's see how many Word experts we have here 😁

I have some Word documents which contain Fields (that is, the things added via Insert/Quick Parts/Field), but when I open the document it just shows the name of the field instead of the data (e.g. <PersonName> instead of Fred).

I can right-click the fields and choose Update Field, or I can press Ctrl-A followed by F9 and that'll update all the fields and show the data correctly, but I shouldn't have to do that. On my old computer, and with "everyone else" here at work, the fields all show their data automatically, but it's not working on my current computer.

Under Options/Advanced, "Show field codes instead of their values" is disabled.

Does anyone know how I can fix this? Word version 2508 on Windows 11.
