I am looking at designing and building my own desktop box. I have done it before but not for a few years.
The last time I did it I was living in oz and getting components from the local weekend computer markets - the only way to buy stuff IMHO.

I now live in Chch and unfortunately there are no such things as weekend computer markets (maybe something to look into starting!)

I need a place that I can get all my individually ordered components from that is reliable and reasonably priced, with a good returns policy.

Does anyone have any recommendations in this area?

Cheers

I use two, Dragon PC have very good service, especially from Greg at the Wainoni branch down Breezes Road, though I find their website painful to use, even after the recent "refresh" it's still horrible to use(IMHO). Another I use is Tastech, and whilst I've been happy with the service you will find others who have trouble contacting the owner in a timely fashion...  As far as returns policies go, I've had to return a couple of items to Dragon PC and both times the item was taken & replaced with no quibbles.

In my opinion, you can't go wrong with Ascent.  I've bought loads of things from them, and find their prices very competitive. However their customer service is outstanding, which is the main thing that keeps me going back there.
