I just downloaded microsoft's new free and will always be free antivirus software from...

it is a beta but so far it is running error free on windows xp. apparently there is a 75,000 user download limit so you should hurry. i uninstalled avg and i am using this for now.

This beta is available only to customers in the United States, Israel (English only), People's Republic of China (Simplified Chinese only) and Brazil (Brazilian Portuguese only).

You can register for the beta on Connect and download the program from there with no country restrictions.
