That motherboard has good onboard audio, why do you need the "AUDIO EXCEL 3D PCI SOUND CARD"?

What monitor will you be using with this?

Why would you be getting a pci sound card? you do realise the motherboard has a decent HD realtek sound card that does 7.1??
Wouldnt go with a seagate drive, would recommend you go down the Western Digital route.. But that my opinion (computer tech with a lot of years behind me in the job.. no end of troubles with bad seagates!)
Everything else looks okay.. You havnt said what operating system you will be running?
If you get vista home premium from a OEM dealer when you buy the parts you should get a free upgrade coupon to Windows 7 home premium (we are offering this at present)

Ok thanks for the replies. The reason that I put a sound card in there is because I had no idea if the motherboard came with a good one. Seeing as it apparently does, I'll axe it out, so thanks for the help there =]

The operating system I'm planning on running is most likely Vista Home Premium 64bit. If you could reccommend where to buy that for a decent price, that would be awesome.

Once again, thanks for all the help =]

Looks good, I've got a similar spec'd one, same ram, same mobo, core2duo as well, and it goes very well, if you're feeling bold (and get a better cpu heatsink) it will also overclock nicely.

But i concur with the HDD, sound and external dvd drive comments.

I'm a fan of computer lounge ask them for a quote for the parts, there is usually a decent discount when buying a bunch of parts together vs the individual price for each part.

They have a useful PC Build Help forum also.

Any thought to a monitor? Blu-ray drive?

Ditto with HDD, sound card, and USB DVD drive.

Well thanks everyone I'll change the parts that everyone seems to agree are wrong. This is a replacement for our current computer so we already have a monitor and so on, though I may try to convince dad to get 2 so that we can run both computers. We don't need Blue-Ray because we have no Blue Ray dvd's, and anyway my laptop does that =P.

Once again, thank you VERY much to all posters, your help has been awesome and greatly appreciated =]

All good stuff there. CPU is very good, a lot of people get them to 4Ghz with decent air cooling. And the RAM will be good for getting to that overclock as well.

Only thing I'd check is that the RAM is listed on the motherboards compatability list. Its good RAM, so it should be fine, but pays to check! You should be able to find that info on Gigabytes website :)

One thing I'd consider is going for a larger power supply, maybe 750w. Gives you room to add more stuff in there, like a second video card in the future, as well as additional hard drives etc.

Can confirm RAM works with mobo, all the way up to 500mhz FSB.... :D
