Firstly - not sure what forum was most appropriate but hopefully this will do.

I'm currently on a website hosting plan with Telecom Business Hub for my website startup, 200MB allowance, 2GB traffic or something like that, however I prefer the idea of running it on my own hardware and not having any limitations as the site grows.

What I would like is any suggestions from all you very helpful people as to what sort of server you would recommend, maybe what you're using at the moment, whether second hand is a safe bet, whether I'd need to upgrade any existing hardware, can one server be used both for hosting and as a print server, can servers be wireless etc Any help would be appreciated, sorry I'm kinda new to this whole thing.

Currently my network (if you could call it that) is all wireless - Thomspson router - xbox 360 - EeePC and laptop

My ideal end result is 1 x desktop and laptop still wireless but also linked to server to share files, hosting and printing.
