I cant find any HP/Lenovo business desktops with Windows7 x64

Why is that? I was thinking 4Gb RAM is almost standard now x64 seems a no brainer

Yeah it is pretty silly, I started on WinXP 64bit about 5-7 years ago and didn't look back(win vista 64bit, 7 64bit present)

I think it might be due to the fact 32bit is more compatible with almost all business software people are using. We still use 32bit here yet almost half our 3000 machines are running with 4gb ram, including mine :S, although i'm hitting 64bit enterprise soon

Also, with those HP machines, most of them have integrated graphics, so will be using around 128-256 of memory, windows will only use upto 3.5gb in 32bit due to PAE extension issues, so you are really only effectively losing a little bit of ram.

I have moved across the ditch.  Now residing in Melbourne as a VOIP/Video Technical Trainer/Engineer.
